Influenza and Immunization Learning Module for Health care Providers

The Influenza Illness and Immunization learning module is a narrated presentation intended to provide education to health care providers who will be administering influenza vaccine in Prince Edward Island. The objective of the learning module is to promote influenza immunization with the overall goal of preventing influenza illness.

What is covered in this learning module?

The learning module will review:

• influenza disease;
• vaccines available for the 2023-2024 season in PEI; and
• protocols for administering the vaccine.

How long will the module take?

You can review this video in about 40-45 minutes.

Why do I need to take this module?

Immunization may not be a significant part of your practice. The module is not intended to certify competency in immunization.  It is a recommended review as influenza vaccine products may change every year and a review of the product monographs is a required practice. In addition, your employer may have a policy in place where this learning module is a requirement. Please check with your manager prior to immunizing.
